Job Opening: Cashier (Contract) at Jumia

Are you meticulous, honest, and looking to build your career with a leading e-commerce giant? Jumia is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Cashier to join our fast-paced operations team on a contract basis.

In this role, you will be a vital link between our delivery operations and finance teams, ensuring seamless financial reconciliation and accurate record-keeping across multiple locations (Lagos, Abuja, Ibadan, and Port Harcourt).

🎯 Key Responsibilities

As a Cashier at Jumia, you will ensure total financial transparency and accountability for daily deliveries. Your core duties will include:

• Payment Reconciliation: Collect and reconcile payments received from delivery riders.
• Order Verification: Ensure all delivered orders have been fully accounted for and paid for.
• Audit & Cross-Checking: Check cash and POS payments directly against delivery records.
• System Logging: Accurately record all financial transactions in Jumia’s internal systems.
• Cash Management: Submit collected cash to the Finance team through the designated secure deposit process.
• Outstanding Tracking: Maintain precise records of each rider’s outstanding payments.
• Daily Reporting: Prepare comprehensive daily reports outlining completed and pending collections.

📋 What We Are Looking For

We are looking for a trustworthy professional with a strong head for numbers and great organizational skills:

• Education: A BSc degree in Accounting or a closely related field.
• Experience: 1 to 2 years of relevant work experience in cash handling, accounting support, or financial record-keeping.
• Core Competencies: Exceptional attention to detail, high levels of honesty and integrity, and strong accuracy.
• Operational Discipline: The ability to ensure all payments are thoroughly reconciled before closing for the day.
