Available Areas of Specialization

We are currently recruiting for specialized Lecturer I positions across four major disciplines:

1. Medical Laboratory Science

• Focus: Delivering rigorous instruction in medical laboratory sciences, designing clinical modules, and supervising hands-on laboratory practical sessions and safety protocols.

1. Nursing Science

• Focus: Teaching comprehensive nursing theories, evidence-based practices, and clinical care concepts to prepare students for modern healthcare environments.

1. Software Engineering

• Focus: Instructing students in advanced programming languages, software development life cycles, database architecture, and modern tech problem-solving.

1. Hospitality and Tourism Management

• Focus: Providing expert instruction in hotel operations, hospitality administration, tourism economics, and large-scale event management.

Key Responsibilities

As a Lecturer I at UOU, your core duties will encompass teaching, research, and institutional development:

• Academic Delivery: Deliver engaging lectures, lead interactive tutorials, and coordinate practical or clinical sessions in line with university standards.
• Course Development: Prepare comprehensive lecture notes, detailed course outlines, syllabi, and robust examination materials.
• Student Mentorship & Supervision: Guide undergraduate and postgraduate students through academic research projects, offering critical feedback and mentorship.
• Research & Publication: Actively engage in cutting-edge academic research and regularly publish scholarly articles in peer-reviewed, reputable journals.
• Curriculum & Quality Assurance: Participate in periodic curriculum reviews, support institutional accreditation exercises, and contribute to department-level quality assurance initiatives.
• Digital Integration: Leverage modern educational technology, learning management systems (LMS), and digital tools to enhance teaching effectiveness and student engagement.

Candidate Requirements & Qualifications

To be considered for the Lecturer I position, applicants must meet the following criteria:

• Academic Credentials: Possess an MPhil or a PhD (preferred) in a field directly relevant to the applied discipline from an accredited institution.
• Experience: A minimum of 7 years of progressive experience spanning teaching, academic research, clinical practice, laboratory management, or core industry work.
